Assembly Notes & Best practices:
Do not use the back cups without stuffing. It will create standing waves and hard reflections within the cup that will be severely detrimental to the sound.
The back cup should be loosely filled with stuffing like fiberglass, polyfill, soft felt or even cotton balls.
Too much stuffing will limit the bottom-end extension of the tweeter.
We recommend sealing the cup to the back side of teeter with silicon adhesive or other similar sealants.
Tweeter should be mounted snugly to the waveguide, enough to ensure the tweeter gasket is pressed against the base waveguide.
Do not crank down on the screws as you may damage the screw holes/plastic, it can also create a rougher response in the process.
To best seal the waveguide against the cabinet, we recommend applying a smooth, thin layer of caulk, silicon, or other similar sealant to either the back-side of the tweeter, or to the mounting surface of the baffle, and let it dry/cure before mounting. This will ensure a good seal without directly gluing the waveguide to the cabinet, or needing a separate gasket material that might prevent a flush mount with the baffle.
The waveguide can easily be sanded & painted in thin coats for a nicer finish without affecting performance.
(For best results, use paints/primers intended for plastics & avoid finishes with harsh solvents as they may melt/damage the PLA.
