B24 Power Cable

(4 customer reviews)

Price range: $379.00 through $479.00

We are now cryo-treating all of our power cables. (US/CAN-only)

The B24 is a new cable design that uses a 24 strand cable braided around a 5/8″ cotton core. Each hot and cold conductor uses 12 strands of the cable, which is twisted together to make an 8 gauge cable on the primary legs. The internal ground cable is 14 gauge and nested inside of the rope.

The braided geometry helps to reject & remove RMI & EMI noise without the higher capacitance created by typical shielding techniques.

We offer both EU & UK plugs for our European customers.

We also offer them under a 30-Day trial period.

We recommend 200 hours of burn-in before they sound their best, and will make the most impact on Source gear like your DAC or Phono stage.
Just let them play for 24 hours for about 8 days.

The B24 is a new cable design that uses a 24 strand cable braid around a 5/8" cotton core. Each primary leg is made up of 12 strands, which is equivalent to a stranded 8 gauge conductor. A 14 gauge ground wire is also nested inside of the rope.

The male plug and IEC plug uses high purity polished copper contacts throughout.

These also come with a 30 day trail period. If within 30 days if they didn't make a difference in your system worth the purchase price then you can return them for a refund.

Many people note an immediate difference versus standard power cables, but the recommended burn in time for these to sound their best is 200 hours. So plug them in and get some time on them before making A/B comparisons.

In our testing there is very little benefit when used on power amps, for best results, we recommend the B24 for source gear, like Streamers, DAC or a phono preamp. Doing so reduces the noise floor of the signal before it is ever seen by other devices like power amps, allowing for better separation between instruments and providing a more open soundstage.

I will say outright that I was a bit skeptical at how much of a difference a power cable could make. Not just in the concept of upgrading a power cable itself, but also that my stereo system is in my living room in general use by family — speakers against the wall next to the TV, tall slanted ceilings, couch right up against the back wall boosting bass, and flat reflective surfaces all around. It felt that I was in a worst-case scenario for testing something like this out. I’m even using Home Depot Syston audio cables (speaker wires are my next upgrade). But, in all honesty, it was the very generous return policy that made me try this power cable. I have a simple setup — integrated receiver being the Yamaha R-N803, and a pair of Ohm Walsh 4 speakers with re-foamed woofers and upgraded tweeters. Casual listening through network streaming from Spotify, casual vinyl listening, and a lot of TV use.
I’ve been into vintage and modern stereo for the last 14 years, and I’ve modified and went through various components and speakers. I also attend the annual local audio expo to listen to the setups that cost more than my house. To be completely transparent in my journey, I don’t think I would have had enough experience to notice a difference with this upgrade in the last 4 years, in having only through those years listened to so many different setups. But oh my did this make a difference. In as much as I felt my poor room setup was robbing the upgrades some. I immediately got detail in the highs and lows that I didn’t hear before. It was one of those rare moments where you get excited to re-listen to all of your music, and want to show off songs to all your friends. I’m beyond happy with this cable, as confident as I was that I was going to return it if it didn’t make a difference to me. Really, thank you GR Research for not only putting these handmade cables out, but really standing by them. It gave me not only confidence to make the jump, but the absolute pleasure to have them as an addition to my setup.

So far , very impressed. First day, and a noticeable width in soundstage. Also more weight to each instrument, thicker sound. Looking forward to hearing after break in. So far, very, very happy with the upgrade.

Please see me review of the B16 power cable. After trying it for my CXN 100 streamer DAC, i decided to go with this cable for my Cambridge AXR 100 receiver and CD Transport. Repeating what i stated in that review, what was said about these power cables proved true once again. Basically, adding one these to each of my components added its own additional layer of discernable space in the room. It was after adding this power cable that the space in the room opened up to a degree that brought the sensation of the artists being in the room to a whole new level. And again still, the vocals in particular gained more presence. Also, it was when i added these cables to my receiver that the holographic imaging took off to another level. In my book, these power cables get a twelve on a scale of one to ten.

Ok. I’ve left some comments before, but just completed the power cable additions to my system by adding this one to my Primaluna Evo 300. Was previously using a Cardas Parsec power cable, which is a very good cable for a very comparable price. Man, is there is difference though. Have been listening for the past couple of hours and the improvements overall over a known good high-end competitor are easily discernable. I’m really blown away. The space within the soundstage expanded more, the width and height of the center image expanded by about 2 ft in the room, and the soundstage depth increased. The vocal decays on London Grammar’s ‘Hey Now’ increased noticeably, along with the size of the perceived room the singer is in. The number of echos on Mark Knopflers electric guitar on ‘You and Your Friends’ increased throughout the soundstage, which was very cool. Space in general expanded, and vocals gained another slight layer of punch. The base was refined on some tunes. Amazing products. Can’t say enough good about these products. And the A-B comparison is solid confirmation! Highly recommend!
