This was a good speaker and I enjoyed listening to it. So why mess with a good thing? Because I was sure it could be much better, based on my experience with my first GR Research upgrade on the Klipsch RP600M.
I am very pleased with the results of the GR Research upgrade on the Cornwall 3. I notice more detail and everything sounds crisper than it did before. My toes are tapping as I write this. It is surprising to me that upgraded parts are not an option on all Klipsch Heritage line speakers.

I really appreciated the linearization of the response of my Cornwall IIIs, expecially in the mid area. The woofer also benefited greatly from the addition of internal bracing, no-rez, and fiberglass as suggested, resulting in greater control without any noticeable loss of extension.
As Danny recommended, I added bypass capacitors everywhere, and the tweeter didn’t simply “improve”: it felt like another component. Greater definition, air, and contour sculpting. Vocals and acoustic instruments acquired that magical “being there” effect.
Well done, Danny!
